As A Child Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

As A Child

Rating: 5.0

I remember still
To catch the rising sun
I once ran up the hill,
But the sun had shifted
Further away still
I stood awhile pondering
And disappointed ran downhill.

Now when in the course of life
Climbing uphill
Striving and struggling
I catch the chill
I am warmed up tenderly
By the sun that rose above the hill
That had taught me to take
Disappointment as a sanguine pill.
