Artist Alone Unknown Poem by Steffi Webster

Artist Alone Unknown

Sketch it out with paper and
Pencil, with freestyle thoughts
To flow through the fingers,
Spark of imagination seldom
Lingers but carries on in
Constant tide the lifelong
Stretch of genius and pride
A sepia landscape or colourful
Blocks that rocks and mocks
The missed ticking of a broken
Clock. Shape the eyes and shade
The iris to lift off the page
The rage and the joy.
Your choice. A girl or
Boy. Power to pick their
Past and present. Future of
Theirs your own intent.
Repent is what’s meant.
Is it heaven or hell sent?
Rip not the parchment of fictional life.
The strife.
Of dark and light.
