Arif Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Arif

Arif

Arabic
-possibly,
-has the best grammar
-it holds the golden
-mould and frame.

The word base is simple
-three or four letters

Easily, then-after
-it moves to process
-in the time
-past, to come, present
-the subject and object
-and the rest required

Both subject and object
-can be used as the name
-for the male
-and female

Arif is one of them
- "One who knows."
- (Not here, in our case)
-he was harmed by U.N.
-the very same UN
-which was made to be help
-to solve the problems
-now itself government.
-and good in most cases
-not at all for Arif…

In office
-St. Petersburg
-In Russia
-things were bad
-plenty displaced
- (the expats and locals)
- (Afghans to Syrians…)
- (And Chechens)
- (And many Africans)

One morning
-a man came
- (Short…weary)
-held hand of small boy with one
-whose other hand was shared with
-smaller brother, both Arif's children
-from wife he had lost to the war,
-she lost life in labour
-in Arif's other hand Jerry-can
-he shouted, begged, pled:
- "Want my wife, four daughters,
-I know you, stole them and hid them…)

The workers knew well
-he was right
-but still played game
- "We have no idea! "

Then Arif threatened:
- "I carry gasoline;
-will set me on fire…"

The workers sought help
-he
-was removed by the law-enforcement

At same time Moscow
-UN acted devil
- (Split family)

The wife was directed
-to bring documents

She was taught and trained
-to be wise characters
-in movie, an actor

She slept with husband
-had the best sex of life
-in her head planning
-stealing husband's cash
-and the sharing passport

He woke up
-wife was gone
-along with four daughters
-left behind were two sons
-children of dead wife
-after search and research
-not finding a trace
-Arif felt the crash of
-sky

Far later
-I involved
-went around
-he gave me in writing
-paper, signed

So, I am authorised
-to write his story

That is when he confirmed
- "It can be my own fault…
-I took her to that door
-showed her way
-meant to leave united.
-Most of our problems
-come from the US
-interest, and anger
-to delete power and
-the grip of Russia.
-We are torn between them;
-both kill us and bomb us.
-I wished to
-take us all together
-and land in Canada…"

Following the case I
-found Anna
-Swedish Feminist
-and head of the UN
-obviously blind
-to the facts of Afghans,
-she could see just one side.

Anna used her power
-and helpers
-smuggled the woman
-after had been trained
-to write and pretend
- "This happened, that happened…"
-to follow the rules to
-become a legally accepted
-refugee
- "The females in danger…"

I have laughed ever since
-have learned of the couple man, woman
-its start in the books as Adam and the Eve,
-this being, human, seem to fight
-and to love
-every day of the life

Funny is the blame
-on serpent
-and apple

Arif's life
-and his sons'
-were ruined
-turned into disaster
-I followed till myself
-ended in a nutshell
-which is like prison
-though free
-though happy
-well-settled
- (in the eyes of others;
-observers…
-outsiders, less aware.)

Hope to write
-Arif's life
-to reveal madness of
-the world that we live in
-with the dumbest leaders, governments.
