Aria's Melody Poem by Steven Pettry

Aria's Melody

Rating: 5.0

When I'm driving to another no-where
To play for people I dont even know
Listening to the records i keep in my car
Knowing they're letters from a heart that has to go.

Their melody sways so sweetly
The painting portrayed captures your breath
But its just not what I want or need
So I'll replay the words you sang to me

When you whispered
I'm the peaking light from the morning sun
The bed that holds you when your day is done
Im your blanket in this lonely cold
I've become the song inside your soul

With nothing but miles of empty roads between us
Time it taunts us with its constant lagging
Lengthening days of being lost and confused
Cause I'm just not me without you

As always the hours continue to grow
Everytime I leave the seconds slow
Keep in mind the snow will melt, the leaves will bloom
A warmth will rise in your heart, I'll be home soon

We'll be star gazing and future day dreaming
Consumed with the other half of our soul
But with me I carry your present, our ring
From my heart to in your eyes I'll sing

I'm the peaking light from the morning sun
The bed that holds you when your day is done
Im your blanket in this lonely cold
I've become the song inside your soul

And if one day our music ever stops
I'll fall hard and my song will only cry
If heartbreak is whats to come of this
Then I'll love you till that day I die
