Are You Really Coming Home? Poem by david lessard

Are You Really Coming Home?

Rating: 5.0

Are you really coming home?
Or is it just a dream of mine?
Will tomorrow really be here?
Will the plane come in on time?
I hope there's no delay,
I've waited long enough,
To wait another hour or two,
Would be a bit too rough.
Are you really coming back?
It's not just some charade?
I wish that I could hire a band,
and give to you a BIG PARADE!
To let you know, I've missed you -
Those arms, those lips, that smile -
To let you know I've missed you so -
The way it was, to be with you awhile.
I hope you'll be right on time,
I've waited, oh, so long -
to take a simple walk with you,
to share with you a song!
