Anything In Return Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Anything In Return

The first time I looked into your eyes, I knew there was a such thing as perfection,
The way I shivered when they began to speak,
Your eyes,
Immediately I saw myself in you,
Every question became lost in the sheets of your eyes as we tossed,
Turned,
Into the light of tomorrow, the answers hushed into the calmness of your smile,
The sun's candle lulled day to night in the glimpse of your eye,
In a galaxy meant for you & I,
I'm not sure where to begin,
I'm madly in love with you,
This world is imperfect,
The furthest from forever,
To wake up in your arms as the sun softly kisses your lips to a new day,
A moment in God's bliss,
Things,
Once considered a dream, now breathed it's way into reality,
Fiction of my world,
To feel your touch everlasting just as the waters that wash along the shores just as dusk kisses the horizon,
How my heart flutters with every touch,
The coming and going of the breeze as its touch is quickly awaited again,
As there is no immunity,
You are that breeze that gives life with every touch,
That breath that fills my lungs as each thought transcends the very definition of you & I,
Once thought to be mere pebbles scattered across the skies at night,
How blessed am I to have found you in a dream where I watched the sun set float away in your eyes,
How blessed am I to have caught a shooting star

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A friend of mine from high school asked if I'd write a poem to celebrate her new found love as well as marriage to her love. This was the finished product. I wish them the best as well as many a blessing to come
