Any Room Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Any Room

If I were a painting I'd want to be
somewhere in front of you
In some capacity.
It doesn't matter how big or small.
Long as I could take your attention
a couple minutes out of the day.
To share a thought or expand how
deep you really feel towards me.
If I were a painting I'd be something
scenic, a serene place with nothing
going on.
Probably in the middle of nowhere.
A safe haven for alot of the places I
wish I could go.
To do little or nothing,
The perfect smell, the perfect touch of
a first time for everything.
The biggest secret that everyone
walks by without second thought.
A place that I could invite you to that is
anything but the life we've been taught.
When we were little we weren't afraid
to dream until we were older.
If I were a painting I'd want to be hung
against your wall.
If I were a painting I'd want to be the
perfect getaway
Something that revitalizes that
Drained and burnt out feeling,
No matter how dry or dull it seems.
If I were a painting
I'd want to be one that you put in a
frame that goes with any room.
No matter the color
No matter how much time
Goes by,
When you look at me
Everything still feels fresh
As if you've drawn me
