Anticipation Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Anticipation

Rating: 5.0

The morning sky is filled with promise
As I take steps to check on time lapse…
Seeing how much my tomato plants have
Heightened overnight…by inches perhaps

Calmly refreshing… cool and soothing…
A path of dew escorts my bare feet on the walk
Soles commune with submissive tender blades
Look at my pretties…their blooms are unlocked

Broad ribbed leaves approvingly protect
Providing shade that welcomes a new yield
Small green globes will plump and be palm size
Their blushing readiness will soon be revealed

My hopeful thoughts catch a whiff of
Toasted bread, lettuce and sliced tomato
I can smell crisp bacon …my mouth is watering
While I am imagining…don’t forget the mayo…

I'll have mine without mayo and just sit and watch 10 Chris

Mmm... scrummy descriptives! I feel my tummy growling for some of those home-grown toms! Love the 'path of dew escorting bare feet' line.. HG: -) xx
