Another Arrival Poem by Leonard Brooks

Another Arrival

He came fiercely into the world(ward)
After all of that time
Immediately searching
His father tried to imagine a prouder man
In Melbourne at that moment
Even more the thought
Of such equal feeling
Being held
by further family
Equally explained
The gaze from cobalt eyes
with pure intent intent
Searching
Steady and fixed
and found
His father
Perhaps the eternal
Understanding
Glimpsed between generations
