Anger That Consumes Poem by Stephen Johanns

Anger That Consumes

Anger always simmering,
Always ready to abduct the mind,
A temper hot enough to smelt iron.
It controls and frightens,
Manipulates and destroys.
And with the blunt force of a club,
It batters through, to the front.

But it must be controlled,
Told to shrink and die.
For it is dangerous beyond measure
Either let it consume and control,
Or throw it to the back of consciousness,
Rise above to conquer it,
Make it wither and die.
