A Place Of Chaos Poem by Stephen Johanns

A Place Of Chaos

A bomb threat,
That was the rumor.
worried at first,
But then thought,
'They wouldn't keep us here this long,
Would they? '
I doubted it,
But it seemed others didn't.

Panic striken,
People running down the hall.
I'm shoved into a locker,
'Keep calm, ' I shout.
No one listens
I work my way out,
to the buses,
the scene is one of chaos,
Students trying to get on buses,
I'm moved at least twice.

Teachers take role,
I'm not on the list.
on the wrong bus.
But they put me here,
they, who would save me,
save us all.
I worry now,
not for me but
for those looking for me.

We arrive at the chuch,
My church,
The place I go to for peaceful worship
is turned into a place of chaos.
I'm told to go to the back,
I'm the only senior here,
yet.
My fellows arrive,
I tell them where I've been,
They sigh in relief.
We are all safe, sound.
In this place of chaos.

yeah, similarly, when the columbine stuff happened, there was this teacher in the library yelling for everybody to get under the desks. well, the ones who simply took off lived, and the poor souls that followed directions, well, thats what happened.
