And Many Moons... Poem by Rishi Votive

And Many Moons...

Rating: 5.0

I recited your unknown name quietly to myself
Unknowingly yet surely your presence filling me
Gripped by the myriad duties of life as time flew on
Gifted to me the unwavering certainty which you are

When did you ever hear those inaudible sounds
How did you ever sense the longing in me
Where did you even understand our reality
While I recited your unknown name to myself

The apparent realities and vicissitudes of current tasks
The vastness of oceans and miles of huge distances
The grace of divinity and not just a mere chance
As I recited your unknown name quietly to myself

The jasmine fragrance and the advent of dawn
The hypnotic eyes and the mesmerizing smile
A signal here, a message there, the chirping birds
I recited your now known name quietly to myself

The bonding naturally ordained as the rainbow
The anguish and periods of difficult separation
Limitations galore and nothing at all to give yet
I recited your now known name quietly to myself

And as one moon glided from half to full
And as the days and nights became equal
And rare cycles creating patterns in the skies
Merging in sublime unity even words falling silent

The monument of devotion stood proudly tall
In peace and bliss, in contentment of completion
Senses and emotions blending in spiritual harmony
Filled with your presence I did not recite your name...

I still recite your known name quietly to myself
As countless moons change from half to full
For it is beyond me to breathe without it
For you are the found one and not the lost one

For this awareness that my quest is fulfilled
For the knowledge that no more desires remain
For my contemplation is but a votive to sunshine
I will always recite your name quietly to myself.
