And I Remember Poem by Ronny Self

And I Remember

Rating: 5.0

I remember
The grass flowing in the breeze
Moments of joy, unbounded
By the constraints of want and greed.
Air singed with innocence long gone.

I remember
Sunlight peeking through trees
Love of simplicity, founded
On the edge of wanton creed.
Wind whispering with the joy of a song.

I remember
Color crayon rainbows drawn
Hasty hours spent, through
Reading books splayed on the lawn.
The sands of time are moving on.

And now I remember
That those moments are all gone
And there’s nothing left to do
But pack up and move on.
…Moments faded with the dawn.
