And I Mourn Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

And I Mourn

Rating: 5.0

And I mourn

Prepared birdhouses,
Nailed them to branches
Of the tree, near the fence.

Happily, poured the seeds
On the ground, in feeders.

For taking good photos
I chose the right lenses,
The tripod and a shutter.

Followed the proverb:
"Two birds with a stone."

In the morning went to work,
Late in the day, returned home.

Everything was mangled,
Trees cut and fallen,
Scattered the birdhouses.

Keep thinking of my birds,
Have they found a place?
Did they join the homeless?

Do not see them jumping
Off branch to pick seeds!

Where can be my lovers?
Dream of them singing!

Did they find somewhere else?
Or did they join the homeless?

Feel being Romeo
Without my Juliet!

I am deeply concerned,
I am deeply concerned,
Am mourning in anger,
Am mourning in anger!

I enjoy reading your poetry and commenting on it, Nassy. But it would be meaningful to me if you would return the favour.

Part 3. As the kitten grew up all these started to vanish. Except the ravens. When did it all start and when did it end we didn't notice. But, now the only sound in and around the house is "meow, meow".

..a few months back. My daughter who was ‘working from home' was having a pet kitten, Brownie. There were always a large number of birds, sparrows, mynas etc, around the house apart from many squirrel families on the trees. We always enjoyed their presence, their chirping and twitter and squeaks..
