And I Learn Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

And I Learn

And I learn

Every cell has message
-a column is over treasure

My friends are many
-scattered in nations
-different in cultures
-colourful my garden
-rich with birds, nightingales
-they speak by shouting, by whisper
-and I am collector
-of their joys and their pains…

Every cell has message
-a column is over treasure

Hawaii to Egypt
-and Turkey, Syria
-to Iran and Afghan
-USA, Canada
-different backgrounds
-of France to Irelands
-and London, Scotland
-and Japan, Indian…
-First Nations, possibly
-are the most important

Every cell has message
-a column is over treasure

Among them are fighters
-passives to carefree, resilient,
-the hopeful game changers

Every cell has message
-column is over a treasure

I listen and listen and listen
-varies each story, different

And I learn
From books, from them…
