Anchor - April 2010 Poem by Stacey Knippenberg Ricci

Anchor - April 2010

Does an anchor breath
Or weep or smile
As it holds you in place?
You will not drift off course
All passengers will be held
At the mercy of the claw
That keeps them still.
The weight sinking deep
Into the silt at the bottom.
The waves may swell and swirl,
But all is still here
Anchored
