An Empty Box Poem by Ruth Walters

An Empty Box

Rating: 5.0

This box is empty.
No sweets or hidden letters,
or children's toys or
tools left behind by kind shelf fitters.
No chiffon scarves,
no one dried rose
or other treasures.
No memories whatsoever.
Still, it might come in handy for
something or other.
I'll put it in the cupboard
along with the others.

The blessed emptiness of the box invites you to create new memories.

An Empty Box is a poem quite simple, but it made me smile which caused my cheeks to dimple. (cont.)
