Amelie Poem by Pau Autor

Amelie

Learned to sing the song Do, Re, Mi,
then began counting one, two, three,
most of all she knew A, B, C,
a girl with a name Amelie.

Fair wavy hair and pale white skin,
thy chapped and faded lips so thin,
a wide dark eyes no one have seen,
why the world to thee was so mean?

Poor little girl, name Amelie,
why they keep saying 'no' to thee?
wish thee could fly like bird so free,
wish they could see the beauty in thee.

I hear the surly sullen bell,
in silence I grieve for the little girl,
pain was too deep for me to tell,
when I saw young Amelie fell.
