Amelia Poem by K. J. Broadhurst

Amelia

Even though our time was short

Your presence hardly known

I looked at you, where you lay

In your mothers womb

Just her skin and your safe walls

Were all I had to see?

But Just for that one moment

I kissed you passionately

At the time it was the first

And never did I see

That the walls keeping you safe

Would be invaded so brutally

There you lay so cold and bare

No love just pain, with that I share

The tears the fears and all alone

My beautiful baby
