i always miss the way.
you let me weep in your arms.
the way you wiped my tears away.
and kept me safe from harm.


you always told me how
i’d be okay again.
and that it only hurts right now.
because i’m stuck on “then”.


i always knew it would end.
although i’d hoped it wouldn’t.
my tiny heart i’d hope you’d mend.
but somehow knew you couldn’t.


you always said you’d leave me never.
but always doesn’t really mean forever.
