Alternate Reality Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Alternate Reality

Sad to see.
A feeding of a madness.
Fed to begin.
By just one who deceives.
Hoping this protects,
An alternate reality.
Told and sold.
Victimizing those innocent.
To accept and believe.

Then a truth is revealed.
Leaving misdeeds done to do,
Unable to mend...
All the division too late to fix.
Or the wickedness caused,
By the ones who defended it.
Giving their support.
Now wishing they could abort,
And export from their minds...
Lies bought to convince,
An acceptance of them.
Without common sense to use.
