Alone, That's What I'Ve Always Been. Poem by Elorm Dogbo

Alone, That's What I'Ve Always Been.

Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been
With no one to push me
When I climb
With no shoulder to soak my tears
When I cry
Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been.

Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been
With no one to see
The few times I am glad
With no one to look up to
When I am sad
Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been.

Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been
With no mother
To pray for me
With no father
To toil for me
Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been.

Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been
With no justice
To come my part
To assuage the pains
Of my wounded heart
Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been.

Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been
With nothing to call
Ecstasy
My whole life has been
Melancholy
Alone,
That’s what I’ve always been.

Even in the midst of a bustling crowd, man, the most solitary of creatures, is always alone. Thanks for sharing. Don
