Alone On This Road Poem by Ardimus Caldwell

Alone On This Road

Rating: 4.5

Riding in this car unknowing what's out there
Confused
Not lost yet
Nobody behind me or in front
No signs in the fresh dirt to show the way
A map would be nice if I had it
People leaving from left and right, up and down
All around me
Some leaving slow and some leaving fast might be around for a
Minute but gone when i stop
No eyes see the road that i take that lie ahead
No ears to hear the swarrow of my heart crying out of being lost on this Road
Given the direction called this way,
Keep west,
Oh just a little while til I'm there
Who's there to say
Not me I don't know what's what any more
No passengers in the seat
Not even on my back
Here I am riding this road all alone
Alone I ride
