All Rights Preserved Poem by Face Butter

All Rights Preserved

Rating: 5.0

Hidden behind cautious curtains with inquisitive eyes
I reserve the rights to preserve my sanity
Where I will no longer share my emotional delicacies to society
For I have loved too quickly
Loved too hard
Too boldly
And this vulnerability kills
It poisoned my mind
And without intellectual light
It invaded my sight, making me blind
Yes, it corrupted my mental state
Swept over my body like a hurricane without shame
Scattered debris indicating my name
No sunlight, leaving me to die in this bitter cold with frostbites
No reparation
Just aggravation of limbs and organs
There is no recovery
Is there?
Only in commercials I see a money-back guarantee
Unless…
Unless of course I proceed to hold on tight to this heart of mine
Ignore this mortgage filled love that comes with high interest
Stay focus
Using discernment
Then maybe, just maybe I can reserve
And preserve the rights to my sanity
Let me fill out the paper work for property insurance
