Age Of Misinformation Poem by Ridge Dillard

Age Of Misinformation

This is the age of misinformation

Mental segregation

Worship Corporations

If you yearn to stay alive

They’ve stolen our soul

& Stolen our jive

Enterprise on our name

Steal the ones who rose to fame

They make millions off the faces of Tupac Shakur & Bob Marley

They buried the history of Malik El-Shabazz & Marcus Garvey

They couldn’t care less that Mother Africa is starving

This Westernized display of apathy and lethargy

It harms me

Highway robbery

To captives freshly set free

Give them a chance

At least

Give us a chance

At Least

Remove the government endorsed Guns & Drugs

And Give us a chance for peace

At the Least

Answer the pleas of minorities

Forced to live in poverty

Forced to live uneasily

Forced to live so Forcibly

You’re forcing me

Into the system

But i’ll be the cog which unfurls it all

I’ll be the bell which harks the call

I’ll be the prophet who cries and bawls

For the masses to be wary of the wicked ways

Of those who govern and rule today
