Against Violence, A Call Poem by Elizabeth Padillo Olesen

Against Violence, A Call

Rating: 3.5

Gun producers
Gun buyers
Gun users
All share the euphoria
Over the use of power.

Violent films
Violent computer games
Violent videos and suicides
All share the entertainment
Of the images of violence.

And we feel shocked
When an insane man in the head
Barges into the school of our kids
And empties his guns from all bullets?
Is violence the only legacy in our time?

Thanks, Kelvin, for leaving a response. Violence has been our legacy to our children in our modern time.
