Afterlife Poem by Brian Rihlmann

Afterlife

When I stare at the sea,
I think about resting
among the waves someday.

Slip my body whole
into that churning womb,
let me feed the sharks
and become their flesh,
let me swim in those fins,
and devour with those teeth.

In death, gliding to depths
unimaginable in life.
