After The Nightmare Poem by Noah Collins

After The Nightmare

I woke up, cold sweat
heart racing, muscles tense.
About to strike...
the empty air?
But was not my enemy just there?
Its demon eyes plauge my sleep
For it alone must be beat.
I saw it there...sneering before me...
Lay back down, set myself up.
