After I Fell Poem by Amber Reeves

After I Fell

Who knew I would run into you?
Like a cat from water
to a gentle toddler to his mother?
Your eyes drew me in
I couldn't break my palms from sweating
and my blood heating at the sight of your eyes sparkkling!
Times like this I feel faint
I knew you in my heart
I felt you in my soul
But now, my heart is torn
Who knew gentle arms could push me away ruthlessly
who knew silent happiness can become silent
who knew breathlessness could become suffocating with pain?

Now, I wake at night with my body shivering
I felt so safe when you were next to me, but
What happened to our touch?
I need to know!
After you left
