Afflicted Pain Poem by Ciera Ivey

Afflicted Pain

Rating: 5.0

I am your confusion
I don't mean to be
I'm right in front of you
But you cannot see

Was I just an experiment?
A simple-minded game?
Because every time I look at you,
You look at me with shame

Do you think I was blinded?
I knew it would never be
I knew you were too good to be true
And would soon be nothing but a memory

I'm glad you pushed away
Before I was able
To be broken-hearted
And again, unstable

So you're on the right path?
Think again
Because until you're a child of God,
You're still just a sin
