~ Aesthetic Deity. ~ Poem by Michael Lanahan

~ Aesthetic Deity. ~

Aesthetic Deity. 112.

Oh kindred spirit lately blown, sweet harmony of transport,

Let not remorse of thee be shown, lest rhapsody shall distort,

Oh soulmate of poetic grace with light of understanding,

That radiates from angel face with stature undemanding,

Oh mentor, symbiotic bond, with words of wondrous healing,

With willowed form, nimonic build and, utterances appealing,

- - - o0o - - -

Oh sylvan spectre of delight with flames of inspiration,

To fire the very soul of me, volcanic animation,

Oh paramour of written words with nimbus intellectual,

Imbibe my scribbling so absurd benevolence effectual,

Oh Deity Aesthetic, in unison we’ve flown,

Beyond such dreams romantic, to realms as yet unknown,

Oh esoteric goddess with ambience divine,

If I should make my moribund wish, t’would be that thee were mine.
