Admiration Poem by Cookie Matzii

Admiration

Rating: 5.0

There once was this guy...
handsome, yet short.
I guess you could call him hot,
but... no, I'm not sure.

He's not the typical hottie,
the one you expect tall and dark.
He's more of the opposite..
In fact, he only got the handsome part.

But, 'No, he's not handsome',
some would even say..
'He's just cute',
and I guess, for me, a bit chubby...
but, in a good kind of way.

For me he got that 'presence',
I guess not everyone would see.
And I don't know
how or why,
but it surely got me.

Then my friends finally figured out,
they often caught me staring..
so they tease me 'bout that,
sometimes it even got me blushing.

But he's got a girl,
and already betrothed.
I always keep that in mind,
and I do what I'm told.

'Cause I'm still just a teen,
and he's way over my age.
I don't even have the chance
to a person be engaged.

Ha-ha.. but, no.
I'm not really thinking about those adult stuff yet.
I just look up to him,
It's just a simple 'crush',
those stuff, don't you just get?

Yet I know I'm not the only one,
the only one who admires.
I can't blame the others,
with just one look,
it's like he could satisfy all our desires.

So the others have already proclaimed
their so called 'infatuations'.
But me, I'm just content being here,
watching with all due satisfaction.
Just staring.. observing from time to time.
Waiting.. waiting for this to pass..
this so called 'admiration',
this, it wouldn't last.
And soon I bet..
I would be happy to say,
'It's gone,
I'm free,
finally..
and oh, at last! '
