Addiction Poem by Leaking Pen

Addiction

Rating: 4.5

My love for you will never change,
It is fate that drew us apart.
Like a sharp knife slicing a red melon,
Exposing its bleeding heart.

You shaved its outer skin
To get down to its core
Where tender love hid within
Which you gladly tore.

You ate my flesh and pitted my seeds,
Discarded my skin
Like an ugly sin
And when you had your fill with your needs,
Left me empty
Like a junkie
And threw me in the garbage bin.
