Acceptance Poem by Anterrio Graham

Acceptance

What you see is a person who was a mistreated by his peers
They broke every ounce of his confidence and brought out his fears
Behind the smile was a face full of tears
Because the same people who taunted him was his friends for many years
You wouldn’t understand his pain unless you went through it
You couldn’t understand this type of pain

Life moves on for this person and he continues to grow
While still being mocked he gains the knowledge to know
Maybe these aren’t his real friends but he feared to let go
Like they were the Master giving the slave the rope
Killing him with there grip like a deadily snake
Wrapping there grip on his mind to see how much more he can take
He begged and pleaded for mercy, and looks for a way out
Maybe this was the end, but why would it end now?

A Light dawns on this person and it begins to speak
Saying“I can give you the friendship that you truly need”
What did he have to do to obtain the friendship he seeked?
“Leave your old friends and come over to me..”
