A Woman Poem by Nitya Swaruba

A Woman

It lights up when she does
This place I call home
All purpose is her being
Emanates beauty she owns
What I'm destined to see
Is far less than there is
Just a glance is impossible
She is the very premise
A light for any darkness
A mend for any breaking
Her gaze full and earnest
One smile, and I'm taken
The best of my deviations
That's all that can be said
Thanks to my aversion
I got time for her instead
Timeless as she can be
Pieces of time I want to thieve
Helpless and hopeless when I feel
She's always here, never leaves
Time and space aren't what they are
A universe in my hand, it's her I hold
She looks at me, not from far
Happier days always unfold
My world wishes to forever last
Forever's as long as she does
This incredible spell that she's cast
Will keep me alive, or so it must.
