A Wish Gathered Poem by Nitya Swaruba

A Wish Gathered

Soul-searching
On a barren land
Spirits buckled
I was jaded
Life faded away
In feeble strands
The soul sifted
Through fingers
Like sand

Then came a now
A wish, I gather
With a rip it tore
My binds broke
Urged to the fore
I bore witness of
A vision so bright
I understood, I saw
You became my light

An eternal spark
That ignites me
A part of all that counts
You incite, excite me
The heart sees you
My spirits mount
You rest in my core
For my chest heaves
Light as a feather
Never will I
Ever give you up
We'll lie here tied
Together forever.
