A Way To Die Poem by Melissa Hennessy

A Way To Die

The cascade of carcasses
Buried below the earth
Lie alone
Sleepless in a floral offering

I can’t let you go here
This is not your home
Come back to where you belong
Awake in your painless dream

Don’t fear
I’ll visit you some day
When I fall back to reality
Never

I’m running through rivers
But they only asked for a glass
A way of life
A way to die
