A Wanderer’s Story Seven (Passacaille Gala) Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

A Wanderer’s Story Seven (Passacaille Gala)

(dedicated to La Go, a poet friend at poemhunter)

fog was like a thick veil
covering entire mountain
water dropped from above
wetting those curly roads

send our soul and our spirit
soaring to edge of velvet gulf
far off into an untouched vision
look into a shimmering horizon

I engrave this miracle
that brought us together
upon our trembling hearts
there is a love to be had there

I surely devote eternity
and traverse hundreds miles
I will never leave you alone
O blue wolves, O green bushes
