A Unique Joy Poem by Asokan Suppiah

A Unique Joy

Catch me not
Let me fly
Flying is my joy
The world
Waiting ahead of me
The days I left behind
The days I to confront are
My life time
Death may embrace me
Tomorrow
I might be maimed
but
My heart will still
Dwell on flying
Because flying is my joy
A unique joy
I thank god
Every time I spread my wings
For creating me
With a mission to fly
The world is too big to
cross with my tiny wings
but
I resist because
Flying is my
Only joy
Happiness fills my heart
When I cross
The beautiful gardens and cities
I praise god for making this world
Happy
Sorrows fill my heart
When I see the devastations of war
Famine and poverty
I ask my self
Does god really exist?
It's too much for my tiny brain
to
Comprehend the complicated god
But I still believe
He should be up there some where
Because
If not for the flowers and trees
he created
I would have been dead
of exhaustion
They are my pals who
Lend their petals and leaves
to rest my soul
In my mission to
Fly more and more
Because
Flying is a joy
A
Unique joy
