A Tribute To My Mother (Barbara Waldron) Poem by Astell Collins

A Tribute To My Mother (Barbara Waldron)

Barbara Waldron-our strength and love
(A tribute to a mother of all times)

You are a mother comparable to none
For all the wonderful things that you have done
My brother and I honour your efforts
Because of you we know a woman’s worth
You were chosen
And thus will never be forsaken
A woman that is quiet, caring, and selfless
With a laughter and smile that cheers the depressed
You are our sunshine
And to your family you are firm but kind
You are elegant, smart, and hard working
Teaching us the principles and benefits of saving
We are blessed to have the level of care you’ve provided
Always ensuring that we were fed and clothed
As a single parent you functioned as a father
But never forgot your role as our mother
We don’t know how you did it
But we want you to know that we will never forget
Single handedly you have raised two men
So in blessing you whatever the cost we will spend
You fought for your children
And sought at all times for us to win
From the much needed lessons
To the countless medicines
We could never repay you for your love
But you are the one we cherish, adore and think of
Our love for you extends beyond expression
So Barbara Waldron, you will forever fuel your sons’ ambition
