A Touching Leave-Taking Poem by East Sea Fairy Xing Yi

A Touching Leave-Taking

By LIU-YongTranslated by East Sea Fairy

At the moment due
when we did leave-taking touchingly,
you said that the chances of another rendezvous
hence was next to zero virtually.
But as luck would have it, we ran into each other recently.
When we sat in the room perfumed by the pleasant odor of aloe,
and took our time to enjoy a wine sweetly
you drew a deep sigh with your furrowed brows low,
which woke up my sleeping woe.

With tears of unhappiness
you whispered weakly in my ear
all kinds of utterly hidden frustration and fretfulness.
There's, however no other alternative for me, I felt rather drear,
my dear.
But please believe, oh!
If I get rid of all my cares and concerns drear
I'll be born again to the marrow
and be with you even if dry the seas go.
