A Through Z Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

A Through Z

A through Z.
Everyone can see.
But few will take responsibility,
For a blame game.
Or a name to reveal the starting of it.

And,
A through Z.
Unbelievable as this can be.
No one admits or with others agree,
They know of a name.
From which they first heard of the game.

Yet...
Sitting individually,
Maneuvering to receive a victory.
Are the ones among others prepared to win.
And sitting among others,
Not anticipating to lose.
One who brags to boast.
Becomes the host of shame.
Leaving without a win.
But defeat to claim.

A through Z.
No other letters,
Used put together can...
Spell defeat.
Or make it better,
If one feels grief.
To lie denying,
A defeat to disbelieve.

A through Z.
No other letters,
Can stop a shock...
One prepares to mock it.
When defeat is received.
And to feel personally.
Especially...
When a game they play is to deceive.
