A Surprise Poem by Walterrean Salley

A Surprise

Rating: 4.1

Ding dong.
Ding dong. I made
My way to answer the door.
And found a lovely fruit basket
Sitting.

Surprise!
My dear sister-
Friend, whom I had not seen
For quite some time, had left it there
Today.

I was
Speechless. What a
Beautiful gift—even
More than money. Its value was
Priceless.
