A Sojourn Solitary Traveller Poem by Avinash Nair

A Sojourn Solitary Traveller

Rating: 5.0

Again, he embarks on this journey,
A journey without destination
With a slight change;
This time, it is alone
A sojourn solitary traveller
Traversing through the trivialities of life
Filled with passion
Searching for a quest,
A bit of compassion,
Earnest with anticipation
For emancipation,
For a greater reason
To live and thrive,
Searching
For a justification
To be happy and alive.
He observes people,
Observes time
With passion,
He meets intrigue
And befriends sham,
Falls in love with hate
And marries vengeance.
However, as they say, 'fate'!
Our sojourn solitary traveller
Is still alone
Left out in the crowd;
A shadow without form
A sound without meaning
An existence without purpose.
The sojourn solitary traveller!
Travels alone
Preaching, trying, justifying
His life,
His sorrow, his hideous strife.

A very heart-wrenching poem, filled with the sadness of life's suffering and turmoil. Very great emotive expression in this poem with a beautiful steady and intense rhythm flowing all the way through. Beautiful poem expressing sorrow while going through it alone. Giving you a 10 for this great poem. Thank you, RoseAnn

A very thought provoking poem Avinash. It brings tears to my eyes to think of the loneliness suffered by the traveller
