A Semi-Sonnet On Dawn Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

A Semi-Sonnet On Dawn

On wings of light add liberation
the armies of the Dawn
marched into old Valletta.

To light the Port from dark;
few minutes; to light
Valletta to stir again.

A distant cock crows; the Dawn
smiles; it speaks see!
'I will soon go but leave
the light and stir'
