A Secret Poem by Pondering Portrait

A Secret

Rating: 5.0

Etched in hollows of my heart
Encrypted in blood lies a secret
Locked away under layers to deceive
Rests the part of me that I have kept

Pulsating strong, alive and well
The remaining life of my spirit
Its remnants radiate through my eyes
The only glimpse they’ll have of it

Its caressing whispers in my mind
In a tongue that I can translate
Reassuring beams of persistent hope
Despite the odds of my fate

I am keeper of this treasure I yield
Less fragile than a dreamy mist
None can every unlock this entity
For its safety I shall insist

A piece of an impossible dream
A lie against the truth of reality
A belief that surpasses imagination
Lays a secret hidden within me
