A Second Date Poem by Randy McClave

A Second Date

You don't need to be a super model
With your looks you need not to coddle,
You need not to wear two inches of makeup
For me to look at you with a smile and a yup,
For us to get along and to compute
All that you gotta be is to be happy and to look cute.

I hope that you're interesting and exciting
A one in a million conversationalist at the first sighting,
I hope that you are kind and warm and caring
And with your emotions I hope you are sharing,
In your heart I hope that you are humming a song
Then you and I most definitely will get along.

I hope that you are warm and also kind
A good heart and a good soul I am looking to find,
And I hope that you are happy and grateful
Simplicity fills my mind and my soul,
And if we both can joke and laugh and relate
Then I most certainly will be asking you for a second date.
