A Scene From A Movie Made In 1963

I was alone in the dark,
I had the blues that night,
the club was closed, everyone had gone home,
but I had one last drink
to help me think,
ice cracking the only sound.

'No one wants to hear my songs,
and I've been alone too long,
worse yet,
no one wants to play my songs,
but they are still a part of me,
they are The Art of me.'

And I cried.

A Zippo clicked in the corner
and I saw the flame in his eyes,
he walked to the piano and played my melody.

I said, 'No one wants to hear my songs'
and tipped my glass to hide my face.

He played and played
till I sang along,
then he said, 'I do...oh, baby, I do.'
