A Portrait Poem by Miroslava Odalovic

A Portrait

she doesn't have those eyes
that keep staring at you too curiously
she would never embarrass anybody
or make you look down into your own hands
but the corner of her eyes
they always smile
even when sorrowful

once I heard her quote a poet
a local one whose name I forgot
known within the borders of this land
'God your so good
the sin is only mine'
or something like that

she did it with a smile
quite sure she'll sin again
because it's impossible not to

there is a trait of honesty in her
I always like and respect

An enjoyable piece; loved the concept behind this poem; everyone we meet has the gift to teach us something new - especially when we humbly choose to pay attention to those near us; wonderfully conceived! -Joe Breunig Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory
