A Poem Of A Poet Poem by Nibedita Phukan

A Poem Of A Poet

At my heels was a gaping vacuum
I tarried—
My hands stretched out towards the chasm,
As ever

A duet of hollowness and calm
Tailed the poet and the poem.
Until all things fall silent
Until the songs go quiet
I will never cease being a poet
